THIS TIME FOR THE WEDDING SEASON<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Well summer has at last arrived and wedding season is upon us, so specially for the occasion I have made some wedding themed wine cover gift boxes that will do perfectly for the tables at the reception or for gifts. Just right for those of you who are being creative and making handmade items for your wedding day.<br />

<br />
As usual these are editable and printable and super easy to make, using 2 sheets of A4 card, so you can make as many of them as you like, each of them individually personalised for the occasion. <br />
<br />
I have also made them fold flatable - can you say that? - for easy storage and re-use<br />

Of course the Dinner Jacket box could also be used for many other occasions, where a masculine or more formal approach is called for.<br />

I hope you can find a use for them :0)<br />

Well, Spring has actually arrived in the UK. Not very warm at the moment but sunny and the daffs are in full bloom so things are looking up!<br />
Easter is also fast approaching and I wanted a spring themed box for my Easter gifts and eggs, a box that could be re-used.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT_1abkB7gibW4mvBqwaC7oZ5ZPimgDXrhx1EHjze8hakI6qLRKMmc-BaaWJWqX7HfCEyrmKF-9W1UkqkNk7O-2bg57Vw-orCNEm5uSM83jjVzXFwHUwsCvjscGAo7MF2sZ7BGopLHi9U/s1600/watermarked-Spring+Gold+Swirl+Top+Box+-+Sheila+Wood+Designs+2015+(11).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT_1abkB7gibW4mvBqwaC7oZ5ZPimgDXrhx1EHjze8hakI6qLRKMmc-BaaWJWqX7HfCEyrmKF-9W1UkqkNk7O-2bg57Vw-orCNEm5uSM83jjVzXFwHUwsCvjscGAo7MF2sZ7BGopLHi9U/s1600/watermarked-Spring+Gold+Swirl+Top+Box+-+Sheila+Wood+Designs+2015+(11).jpg" height="400" title="Editable, printable gold gift box template - instant download " width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I've had so many comments saying that if a generic sentiment were added to the box they could be used again if they could be folded flat for storage. However, because the base has to be secured with tape to keep it from falling open this wasn't possible.<br />
<br />
So back to the drawing board and voila! self locking base boxes that fold flat.<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
The box is so easy to make and takes two sheets of A4 card. It measures 3.5 x 3.5 x 5.5 inches so is just right for small gifts or sweets (candy).<br />
<br />
Once again I have made the labels on the side editable for your own sentiments, so you can print off as many as you like each with a different greeting.<br />
<br />
The file is available as an instant download pdf file from my Etsy shop for £2 by clicking on the button below.<br />

After some research I noticed that there are a few things I must bear in mind when I make a greetings card.<br />
<br />
1. PUT THE CLEVER STUFF ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CARD <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBD00kJOsAmoDL5bLQag4KTfDEEFJmBQku2tNlAovB5rF1rePiF24VH1hHvFRu6PLNLinj3vKktShqYQZbZESg3Uw5DGgYZrFH_tzNzgAEXzskymHdfEwkOJfSjjCXRpoL6taNFIdtoeM/s1600/Problems+with+card+display+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBD00kJOsAmoDL5bLQag4KTfDEEFJmBQku2tNlAovB5rF1rePiF24VH1hHvFRu6PLNLinj3vKktShqYQZbZESg3Uw5DGgYZrFH_tzNzgAEXzskymHdfEwkOJfSjjCXRpoL6taNFIdtoeM/s1600/Problems+with+card+display+1.jpg" height="287" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Generally speaking the recipient will stand the card on the mantlepiece with just the front showing, so if you have laboured long and hard over a spectacular inner to your card it will stay hidden from view and all your efforts will be in vain.<br />
I have made some beautiful cards in my time with pop up and pop out inserts being the main attraction of the card, only to find them on the shelf with just the not so clever outside of the card showing.<br />
<br />
<br />
2. MAKE THEM THE RIGHT SIZE TO FIT ON THE SHELF<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgU8qLOB09tO1mCd3K5koVtySeJNoLppaTpXEGIYJ8sYV7ugeURiCvtNSapIO1_p3HK6yyQwUCtNHVdjnVnANcd5wbMAL1mOrLxi3tL6yYDNNoBSNUJ3RytboLnzzoHrUipHBk9cbOUg3s/s1600/size+does+matter.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgU8qLOB09tO1mCd3K5koVtySeJNoLppaTpXEGIYJ8sYV7ugeURiCvtNSapIO1_p3HK6yyQwUCtNHVdjnVnANcd5wbMAL1mOrLxi3tL6yYDNNoBSNUJ3RytboLnzzoHrUipHBk9cbOUg3s/s1600/size+does+matter.jpg" height="300" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Cards can only take up a certain amount of space.<br />
The area available to most people for the display of cards is usually limited so if you have a card that pulls out a long way to the back or side the chances are, because it won't fit onto the shelf or takes up more than it's fair share of space the card will be viewed, admired and put back into the envelope.<br />
<br />
<br />
3. MAKE IT VERY CLEAR HOW THE CARD SHOULD BE DISPLAYED<br />
<br />

<br />
If you make any card that isn't purely a book or tent shape, ie an easel, shelf or any card that needs arranging on receipt, the chances are even when you provide instructions the recipient will not understand how to present the card and again the card will be popped back in the envelope.<br />
I have been amazed at how some of my cards have been displayed. The problem is that you have made the card, and you know the way it should be arranged, but if you're not in the know ........... well.......??<br />
<br />
I have tried printing instructions on the card itself. But if you watch, the person will take the card out of the envelope and straight away try standing it up in either a book or tent like manner, overlooking the printed instructions.<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;"> <i> </i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif; font-size: large;"><i>People don't look at the back of cards.</i></span><br />
<br />
I have found that the best way is to make a wrapper for the card with instructions printed on it, so they have to be read before the card can be viewed.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><b>SO.... bearing all this in mind, I try to make my cards </b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><b>a) clever on the outside</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><b>b) small enough to fit on any shelf and </b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><b>c) as easy to display as possible.</b></span><br />
<br />
My research is still in progress, but since I've taken these ideas on board I've noticed that my cards have been much more appreciated as all my hard work is being shown of to best advantage. <b>:0)</b><br />

<br />
<br />
When my Grandmother and her sister Aunty Rosa died, I had the sad task of clearing their homes. Obviously a lot of their possessions had to be recycled and some discarded. One of the things I did hold on to - very tightly - were their photograph albums, with photos of them when they were teenagers in the beginning of the 1900's, pictures of my Grandad in the first world war and others of my more extended family.<br />
<br />
They were shortly added to when my Mother who is in her 90's decided to have a clearout and we found more of her family and that of my fathers.<br />
<br />
Now - what to do with them all and who were all the people in them?<br />
It seemed a shame just to keep them in albums in a cupboard for posterity, particularly as other members of the family started to show an interest. So I gathered them all together, named those I could and scanned them and sent them off to Tesco's to be printed into a wonderful hardback book.<br />
This has been an overwhelming success and now I have had a huge amount of photos and information from other parts of the family, which I want to sort through and use to make some new books .<br />
<br />
The interesting thing about this pastime is the things you unearth and the mysteries you have to solve.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgU0VzUmyEDQbDe9WQxzRHoMKYEbOOuQW-c4js-bdpO0yimcz5huEyarDRWnLWgcDOTnquDsP1K4a-7cl7oeWtaobgDoJMJNOSE8GdMamu-LTTpkxT62svggpiOTXntE41ro1fQ9Ghac0A/s1600/Photo+26-01-2014+11+52+43.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgU0VzUmyEDQbDe9WQxzRHoMKYEbOOuQW-c4js-bdpO0yimcz5huEyarDRWnLWgcDOTnquDsP1K4a-7cl7oeWtaobgDoJMJNOSE8GdMamu-LTTpkxT62svggpiOTXntE41ro1fQ9Ghac0A/s1600/Photo+26-01-2014+11+52+43.jpg" height="298" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Nanna and Aunty had two sisters and three brothers, two of whom died when they were in their teens in 1910 and 1911 of Tuberculosis. I wanted to add them to my books and asked the older members of the family for their names. <br />
Tommy and Robbie - to a man they all came back with the same answer. So off I went in search of more info. Well Tommy was there, but no sign anywhere of Robbie.<br />
At last I found him - Henry George Annis Goodman - not a Robbie or anything that could be shortened to Robbie is sight.<br />
<br />
Now I would have put this down as just an oddity in the family and there was probably some reason for the nickname, but it has happened again.<br />
<br />
My Mum who was christened Eva Lilian, is and has always been called Peggy.<br />
The only time she has ever been called Eva is on official documents and for a time at school.<br />
No one knows how or why she became Peggy - even her Mum and Dad couldn't tell me, so it's going to be a real struggle for any poor soul who is trying to sort out our family tree in the future.<br />
<br />
Now I'm hooked on this family tree thing - I've started cataloging all my own family photos and adding the all important names to them and make the more memorable ones into year books - small ones - not too much clutter <span style="color: magenta;"><b>;0)</b></span> <br />

Minecraft is the name of the game in our household at the moment.<br />
I find it quite baffling that a game with graphics that remind me very clearly of the first computer games that came out in the 70's and 80's, should be so popular with the kids of today.<br />
<br />
That being said, I have noticed in the past that the most popular - and fought over - toy in our house is a 40 year old Fisher Price cash register. No super duper electrical motor, no batteries, no nothing except imagination, and I suppose that's where Minecraft comes into its own.<br />

<br />
<br />
So...... as it's getting more than a little nippy out there and I have one young lad who is currently obsessed with the game, out came the trusty knitting needles and a Minecraft Creeper Hat and Sweater emerged.<br />
<br />
I needed wool that looked pixelly in multiple greens and Stylecraft Wondersoft Merry Go Round in peacock was the best I could manage, but it does seem to have done the trick.<br />
<br />
The pattern, as my knitting friend pointed out isn't exactly rocket science, but knitting the sweater was my worst nightmare - I can't do random. I start off with good intentions but after an inch or two it's like nails on a blackboard. It's the one thing I'm really OCD about. I just like my patterns nice and uniform and even. Sad isn't it. ;0)<br />
<br />
So now it's back to nice non random, sit and watch telly, maximum effect with minimum effort Arans for me!<br />

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Well, winter has arrived with a bang and we're all huddling down around cosy fires and hoping not to have to brave the icy blasts outside.<br />
<br />
Bearing this in mind, my trusty friend of long standing, Aunty Sue got out her knitting needles and designed this fabulously cute beanie to keep us all snug and warm *bless*<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHxw15IfXOM91JdOWI4idr-gDGo_TB-He3luaGwEvKTtZzTgdwMUP35wGsMnU9gsOmt6B-55Wp9ghqRy-cT4W3W2JANX14vzF47FWdzVnj7udQedzHvHw5s5TK24-z8crlMWnk4VxhHTU/s1600/The+Stash+Hat+-+Sooz+Designs+2013+(3).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHxw15IfXOM91JdOWI4idr-gDGo_TB-He3luaGwEvKTtZzTgdwMUP35wGsMnU9gsOmt6B-55Wp9ghqRy-cT4W3W2JANX14vzF47FWdzVnj7udQedzHvHw5s5TK24-z8crlMWnk4VxhHTU/s1600/The+Stash+Hat+-+Sooz+Designs+2013+(3).jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
It's fun to knit and fulfills one of our most pressing requirements - it's a stash buster!<br />
Both Sue and I are avid knitters and both have an embarrassment of wool. There's no other way to describe it. No ball of wool can get past us and we are very reluctant to part with even the meanest bit of leftover yarn in case it should come in handy at a later date.<br />
<br />
Well that day has arrived!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS-uV6wrj4RHuLYRIBVmGfb_LiIfaKUAd3gpNyEv4Pi5b0lyFfl222BxZyVkYOTM7WC_gQ5DcVU5GhKa1aZwpN5W1VcQgBCbQYnElu9XFyv_0_c7lxvc290Tx62k-U_F_M3SNGmOvnUzI/s1600/The+Stash+Hat+-+Sooz+Designs+2013+(1).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS-uV6wrj4RHuLYRIBVmGfb_LiIfaKUAd3gpNyEv4Pi5b0lyFfl222BxZyVkYOTM7WC_gQ5DcVU5GhKa1aZwpN5W1VcQgBCbQYnElu9XFyv_0_c7lxvc290Tx62k-U_F_M3SNGmOvnUzI/s1600/The+Stash+Hat+-+Sooz+Designs+2013+(1).jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The hat is super easy to knit, comes in 4 sizes from newborn (Occy size as illustrated - Beth snaffled that one right away) to adult and takes approximately 50gms of double knitting or worsted weight yarn for the main body of the hat and oddments for the ridges and 'worms'. It's knitted on size 3.25 and 4mm needles, using a pair of double ended size 4mm needles for the i-cord tassel.<br />
<br />
We are selling the pattern as an instant download in my Etsy shop for £2-50, so if you want to have a go and reduce your 'embarrassment' click on the link below.<br />

<br />
With the weather getting nippy, knitting is becoming more and more appealing - not that I need any encouragement. I've been avidly knitting both with my two daughters and my best friend Aunty Sue for the past forty years, and my long suffering hubby has calmly put up with all sorts of knitting related panics.<br />
<br />
If it weren't for him my much loved, over used, but slightly cranky knitting machine (which we all use for boring bits of our jumpers i.e rib) would have been on the lawn many a time - patience isn't my strong suit. He fixes it, maintains it, and talks to it nicely so it will work for us.<br />
<br />
He also puts up with my huge 'embarrassment' of wool, which has a tendency to pop out, fall from or explode from any place in our house that I have managed to store it.<br />
<br />
I once decided to put my latest overflow into a vacuum storage bag and conceal it under the bed. Now for those of you who have never used these bags - beware! they have a tendency to leak, and when mine did Hubby was heard to wonder why our bed seemed to be a little wobbly.<br />
When I looked, my wool had exploded out of the bag and was inflating and ever so gently lifting the bed on one side.<br />
<br />
Who would have thought wool could be so strong and getting the wool back out from under the bed was another story all together - it fights back!<br />
<br />
So now I try to stay away from temptation - is there a knitters anonymous? There ought to be for us poor souls who can't help ourselves, when we get within sniffing distance of a ball of yarn!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I once went to a shop where they were having the most amazing, and oh so tempting wool sale, and when the assistant asked if she could help, I told her, no, because if I bought any more wool, my husband would divorce me. She must have suffered from the same addiction as me as her instant and very understanding reply was "Oh, you will miss him!"<br />
<br />
Hopefully, it will never come to that as,being such a very tall super hero, my sweaters are the only ones that fit him. Cunning eh!</div>

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Where has the time gone!!<br />
<br />
I've just realised how long it's been since I added anything to my blog *wince* The summer has just shot past and now party season is heading our way again at speed.<br />
So in view of this I thought I would post a freebie of a wine bottle collar I made a while ago to hold a couple of Greene and Black chocolates - which I am reliably informed by my friend <span style="color: magenta;">Audrey Frelx</span> at <span style="color: magenta;"><a href="http://cuteandsome.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">Cute and Some</a></span>, who very kindly did some sleuthing for me, are available in the U.S.<br />

The collars are really easy to print and put together and as the text is editable you can add your own greeting to add a little pazzazz to your gift.<br />
<br />
If you would like to try them out for yourself, first down load the file below. It's a pdf file which can be opened using an Adobe reader found on most machines, but if you haven't go it, it's a free download from the internet.<br />

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Father's Day is fast approaching and as usual I have left things to the last minute. <br />
<br />
As my Dad, like so many other men, has everything he needs and is one of the world's worst to buy a prezzy for, I've decided to give him a couple of days of my hard labour in his garden, waging the ever present war on weeds.<br />
<br />
To go with this I thought a nice sustaining bottle of wine for when the weeding is over, would be a good idea, so a bottle cover was required with a more masculine feel to it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW67h8j7rB2HnT75XnJ6BMIGSxXwW19LouHZT8_yMzx-FRDfqb4yD61YazJt7vKgu0HBO3nTIBjVeIcQSqFSHL7s3d7EESxDtEXKTLr_1jW6F1D8dRva7W3ZDYptLEkWF6wlrm11LprfI/s1600/Blue+and+Black+Wine+Bottle+Cover+-+Sheila+Wood+Designs+2014+(8).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW67h8j7rB2HnT75XnJ6BMIGSxXwW19LouHZT8_yMzx-FRDfqb4yD61YazJt7vKgu0HBO3nTIBjVeIcQSqFSHL7s3d7EESxDtEXKTLr_1jW6F1D8dRva7W3ZDYptLEkWF6wlrm11LprfI/s1600/Blue+and+Black+Wine+Bottle+Cover+-+Sheila+Wood+Designs+2014+(8).jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This cover, I thought, would be ideal for all those occasions when a gift of wine would go down well. The gift for the host at a dinner party, a Birthday present and of course, Father's Day.<br />
Once again it is in my Etsy shop as an instant download for £2-00.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<br />
I hope you will be able to make use of this file for the men in your life.<br />
Think of me weeding won't you. Hopefully next year I'll come up with a better plan <b><span style="color: magenta;">;0)</span></b><br />

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
I have been super busy just lately as my two Tiddlers - not so tiddly any more - have both been getting ready for their birthday parties, one a Luau and the other Star Wars. There are so may great ideas out there and my Pinterest boards are beginning to groan. Still, we have made progress and the Luau is happening as I type, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all the hard work will have paid off and it's an overwhelming success.<br />
<br />
All these preparations sort of put a halt to the projects I had planned and when I received an e-mail asking if one of my wine bottle covers came in a champagne size, I thought I had better get back on track and finish the jobs in hand.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1dIf2ZLWIAIzA-4gwzzaN1dsFG1mEBj8A4qulmdmnfMqzxEm67QX1V9JwOenOFwqrEX_jLfCm2qjTVBNQmlJdJgO_zl2YvKI8IQGHN2PSI-2PgDtWfwV7r2THQVvtsDxA0aWCBOUM-iE/s1600/Spring+Collection+editable+printable+champagne+gift+box+wrap+-+Sheila+Wood+Designs+2014+(1).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1dIf2ZLWIAIzA-4gwzzaN1dsFG1mEBj8A4qulmdmnfMqzxEm67QX1V9JwOenOFwqrEX_jLfCm2qjTVBNQmlJdJgO_zl2YvKI8IQGHN2PSI-2PgDtWfwV7r2THQVvtsDxA0aWCBOUM-iE/s1600/Spring+Collection+editable+printable+champagne+gift+box+wrap+-+Sheila+Wood+Designs+2014+(1).jpg" height="400" title="Printable, Editable Champagne Gift Wrap Etsy Download" width="398" /></a></div>
<br />
So here it is - the champagne bottle size cover. Once again with editable text so you can customise it with your own wording. It's an instant download from my Etsy shop and is so quick to put together - half the time of going to the shops and definitely less tiring.<br />
<br />
It's available for £2 sterling by clicking on the button below.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/192226487/printable-editable-champagne-bottle-gift?ref=related-0" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="alt text" class="noborder" height="52" img="" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-H6_a-1fzXOs/UyMixgXzwlI/AAAAAAAAC44/kTF1aPEhkX4/s400/etsy%2520button%25202.png" style="border: medium none;" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
So, now I'm out of party bag mode and back in the real world, I'd better crack on and get the rest of the half finished projects sorted out and ready to upload.<br />
<br />
ONWARDS ...........!<br />

As Mother's Day is looming, I wanted to make a special little gift for my Mum. This box is really girly and has started my new 'Pink Diamond' range, which will in time also incorporate a bottle box, a triangular favor box, a tissue cover for tiny tissues, and a bottle collar.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
I thought all of these would be useful for Weddings as well as gifts when needed.<br />
<br />
The template for this is available from my Etsy shop - Sheila's Crafty Corner - as an instant download and will cost £2.<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
The boxes dimensions are 3,5 x 3.5 x 5 inches and I have found 16 Lind'or sweeties fit in very well (If they don't get snaffled first)<br />
<br />
Once again all the text is editable by highlighting the 'Your text here' and replacing it with your own wording, so you can customise it to your own requirements. They are very easy to put together with instructions included and take two pieces of A4 card, and fold flat for storage<br />
<br />
So what are you waiting for - click on the link above, do a quick download and get those sweeties all wrapped up for that special occasion. <b>:0)</b></div>

As I mentioned I didn't think the Hot Cross 'Bun'ny would be everyone's cup of tea, so here is the 'Sunny Bunny' box, all ready for you to print off, quickly assemble and fill with Easter goodies. They would also be nice as a table decoration at Easter with a couple of Ferrero Rocher or Lind'or chocolates inside for the more mature guests, after all, who doesn't like bunnies (or sweeties)<br />

<br />
You can get two of these boxes onto a piece of A4 card by printing one way and then turning the card and printing the other way.<br />
I have made two separate files for the two colours, so you can have the combination that suits you.<br />

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Today's been all about trying to protect my precious pots, pans and plates from the battering they take when being heaved in and out of cupboards and off shelves. We have in the past always put kitchen towel between them, and although it is fairly successful, it uses a fair amount of paper and doesn't look very pretty.<br />
<br />
So off I went online to buy some pot protectors. Not very helpful because, as well as
being quite expensive for the amount I would need, they didn't come in
the right sizes for my bits and pieces. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE9ovmwGOb-5MmXS4vhT2Us0pyJPb18tehBx5MxtKXSqd42VxhF9DhlfBA_fzE5yjBEBhVOwtB7g7GG9WTt4LbT1t1B0BzPBf6mYSYhFNgc5yjf1SYQhMHLjNxs7KTkFxFcNU6RXvHzwE/s1600/Photo+10-03-2014+11+33+35.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE9ovmwGOb-5MmXS4vhT2Us0pyJPb18tehBx5MxtKXSqd42VxhF9DhlfBA_fzE5yjBEBhVOwtB7g7GG9WTt4LbT1t1B0BzPBf6mYSYhFNgc5yjf1SYQhMHLjNxs7KTkFxFcNU6RXvHzwE/s1600/Photo+10-03-2014+11+33+35.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
Next stop - the local material shop, where I picked up a meter of 54" wide felt. Back home, out with the felt tip pen and scissors and down to work!<br />
<br />
I made a template - download below - for the lid protectors and drew round the plates for the shape. I would recommend on hindsight, that you make the plate one's about an inch bigger as they sink into the plate and leave the edges exposed. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/download/eae00mvcja9v2ee/Pan+Protectors+30cm+-+Sheila+Wood+Designs+2014.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="alt text" class="noborder" height="114" img="" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-V5bpDf3B4a0/UyNBQBRcE0I/AAAAAAAAC5M/IoLsU5R2XLw/s400/free%20file%20download%20button.png" style="border: medium none;" width="400" /></a></div>
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd3JXzRCnT3LBQrurApqNBvVOL_VWyAZ1CMzfwu7HCrcqpw2ZssUBHgoIcwX8Mpy1ua5cIaWwHO8J1F6Y5hOwH_jD22aR7dXfB_X6Snf_whLqleg4fDTinkEwsbVNFptOwMTiLXfT43qg/s1600/Photo+10-03-2014+11+31+57.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgd3JXzRCnT3LBQrurApqNBvVOL_VWyAZ1CMzfwu7HCrcqpw2ZssUBHgoIcwX8Mpy1ua5cIaWwHO8J1F6Y5hOwH_jD22aR7dXfB_X6Snf_whLqleg4fDTinkEwsbVNFptOwMTiLXfT43qg/s1600/Photo+10-03-2014+11+31+57.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
Now finished, my plates, pots and pans are all nicely - and safely - stored away in their cupboards and hopefully protected from future dings and dents <b><span style="color: magenta;">:0)</span></b> Success!

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
Whoopee! The sun is shining and it seems we'll be having a warm and sunny weekend. Perhaps the Ark will be able to find dry land and we will be able to disembark. :0) Poor old Britain, we really seem to have had a hammering this year as far as the weather is concerned.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
So.... as it looks as though Spring might be heading our way, and Easter is fast approaching, I thought I would share this fun Easter box - ideal for creme eggs and other goodies.<br />
<br />
Now before we go any further I think I ought to explain why I have a box with a scowling bunny. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/download/njpw4o9b7crq37c/Easter+Hot+Cross+%27Bun%27ny+Candy+Box++Printable+-+Sheila+Wood+Designs+2014.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidggG2jTxtnVdkNVeQU9p9FnR4tgYCjRtbSYz1MvxCsR6kYSOWh48W5eTct5CAp3pIreiV8g7_lRrfPSnE_JcgFmH4EFBE299P2XKPTLqU4S8gNThTEg4i4TCl49cdTpFg944Tz6mL5JQ/s1600/Hot+Cross+Bunny++Easter+Egg+Box+free+printable+download+%25289%2529.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Are we the only country to have hot cross buns
at Easter? (They are a fruit bun with a cross marked on the top which we toast and are traditionally eaten on Good Friday to commemorate the
crucifixion) When they come into the shops you know that Easter is
on the way bringing with it Summer and some warm weather - can't wait!<br />
<br />
I digress - As to how I came up with this stunning Easter bunny box idea -<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/download/njpw4o9b7crq37c/Easter+Hot+Cross+%27Bun%27ny+Candy+Box++Printable+-+Sheila+Wood+Designs+2014.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgasmGk6e4AGTvchVLhwe-REQKHYfosyhRgLppvc4R5UAFIuFgUgdQZaBwwd41VpQwPaj2W0Eo7HE6RWPsF8kOqwW1y7oD7pOtA-0iprw-Fur4GrMxC3E2Cb9PT8wtqiUOQnK-XXDhcyh8/s1600/Hot+Cross+Bunny++Easter+Egg+Box+free+printable+download+%25283%2529.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The other day we were reading a story about a bunny who got stuck in a hole in a tree trunk, and he was a ...... hot cross bunny .... and my little butterfly brain suddenly had a lightbulb moment and I thought - how about a Hot Cross 'Bun'ny Box for the Tiddlers Easter eggs. It's cute and you don't get too much sugar overload, always a problem on Easter Sunday. Tiddlers tearing round like mad things on a sugar high is never a good thing when you have a house full of people!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcu1h4BH-oAzlLUcS32i-MID1hserj7jOifYaJwppojdHuAHzYzK6lsmDHH_nXouXcrTzWcGpV75JcK2W-cmTFjA2sq9jqDMDwFURvYfgWgRP1s4VLvLntBlIr-09hkq87FdtTLriUNyA/s1600/Hot+Cross+Bunny++Easter+Egg+Box+free+printable+download+%25284%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcu1h4BH-oAzlLUcS32i-MID1hserj7jOifYaJwppojdHuAHzYzK6lsmDHH_nXouXcrTzWcGpV75JcK2W-cmTFjA2sq9jqDMDwFURvYfgWgRP1s4VLvLntBlIr-09hkq87FdtTLriUNyA/s1600/Hot+Cross+Bunny++Easter+Egg+Box+free+printable+download+%25284%2529.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
So off I went to the trusty computer and came up with this.<br />
<br />
The file is downloadable, printable and very easy to put together. You get two on a sheet of A4 card (preferably photo paper) and the only other thing you need is some glue.<br />
<br />
If you want to have a go the link to the file is below, then right click and 'save as'<br />
If you download it please leave a comment or send me a photo of your creation. I'd love to hear from you.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/view/njpw4o9b7crq37c/Easter_Hot_Cross_'Bun'ny_Candy_Box__Printable_-_Sheila_Wood_Designs_2014.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="alt text" class="noborder" height="114" img="" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-V5bpDf3B4a0/UyNBQBRcE0I/AAAAAAAAC5M/IoLsU5R2XLw/s400/free%20file%20download%20button.png" style="border: medium none;" width="400" /></a></div>
</div>
<br />
I must admit my little Hot Cross Bunny might not be everyone's cup of tea, so I'll be adding a happier, sunnier bunny box in the near future. Stay tuned!<br />

The next one I've come up with is a lovely square petal topped box in a romantic theme.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaKxkQWXY4L_OZcvaBmTCceVTe8mYtMhHVuWX35W2kzYIxmm2jac-ol23_p7qmnMV-KfrGWKx7gR5E_TI3lPqmD-sgIvcCGY3cawdNQdLVZoBfFtii4ZnDoK-ilgSaD-wMAheJgr1ApTg/s1600/Photo+04-02-2014+11+18+14.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaKxkQWXY4L_OZcvaBmTCceVTe8mYtMhHVuWX35W2kzYIxmm2jac-ol23_p7qmnMV-KfrGWKx7gR5E_TI3lPqmD-sgIvcCGY3cawdNQdLVZoBfFtii4ZnDoK-ilgSaD-wMAheJgr1ApTg/s1600/Photo+04-02-2014+11+18+14.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I made boxes like these for Christmas as you will have probably seen in my previous post, and they went down really well.<br />
<br />
Some of the sweets that my family and friends like unfortunately, although tasting spectacular, come in the most dreary and uninteresting boxes. Not really what you want to give as a special gift so I came up with this idea to bling everything up a little.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfhVaKt-wZuzrPbysnDx-J9x2QGZzFqHtXTZZQJESgO4uY0IQiPqRdGrgOd-GPtFeQ9byYHfjSr_d2WjMGAZJmOV7s5qm2usGx8FSjDuHVFfvr2Yh2MEcYragDF0S-n6vtWpD-dpe523I/s1600/Photo+04-02-2014+11+18+25.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfhVaKt-wZuzrPbysnDx-J9x2QGZzFqHtXTZZQJESgO4uY0IQiPqRdGrgOd-GPtFeQ9byYHfjSr_d2WjMGAZJmOV7s5qm2usGx8FSjDuHVFfvr2Yh2MEcYragDF0S-n6vtWpD-dpe523I/s1600/Photo+04-02-2014+11+18+25.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-pagination: none;">
<span style="language: EN-GB; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;">I pop the sweets in a cellophane bag and tie with ribbon and, in the petal box, it looks really special. The box is 3.75" (9.5cm) wide x 5.25" (13cm) tall, has editable labels on all four sides and a gift tag on which you can make the text your own.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-pagination: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-pagination: none;">
<span style="language: EN-GB; mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;">They are easy to make and take two sheets of A4 card, the thickest you can get through your printer. The only other thing you need is some glue - either wet or strong double sided sticky tape and a few minutes of spare time. Full instructions are included in the file.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-pagination: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-pagination: none;">

<span style="font-size: large;">Woohoo! I've done it!</span><br />

dress up a bottle of wine for a special occasion, and being able to edit

<br />
Christmas was here again, and it was time to sort out some Christmas table goodies. The theme this year was snowmen and after a lot of thought I came up with these.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLnj4UkLPzmUSIAEh3ymDqYvYYK0BQ9WG4sJu3PnOw_jkyg8oblkNgoCOXhdtoT6vxnLxUNC7_h5JUCMtSdGJ4X354B8BoJcEvVa-Aku0ChwHB0DAv0C22e27Sj0UT3ZChCPCef2agcZ0/s1600/watermarked-Photo+16-01-2014+00+59+30.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLnj4UkLPzmUSIAEh3ymDqYvYYK0BQ9WG4sJu3PnOw_jkyg8oblkNgoCOXhdtoT6vxnLxUNC7_h5JUCMtSdGJ4X354B8BoJcEvVa-Aku0ChwHB0DAv0C22e27Sj0UT3ZChCPCef2agcZ0/s1600/watermarked-Photo+16-01-2014+00+59+30.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
They really did look spectacular and as you can see held a nice quantity of goodies, which went down very well.<br />
<br />
The smaller crown topped boxes were made using a freebie template kindly supplied by <a href="http://www.waltzingmousestamps.com/products/freebie-three-kings-boxes" target="_blank">Waltzingmousestamp</a> which I customised to fit my Christmas/New Year theme. They are super easy to make and take two Ferrero Rocher sweeties. Yum!<br />
<br />
Now I have a template for the petal box, I am looking to make a downloadable file for the Christmas version and also for a generic box with an editable name tag, so like mine, the boxes can be personalised.<br />
<br />
SO WATCH THIS SPACE . . . .!</div>

Over the last couple of years I have experimented with and
made many different 'clever' cards and been been happy with the idea that they
would stand out and look impressive when displayed on someones mantlepiece.<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br />
However, in the last few days I've noticed that unfortunately, even when given
instructions as to how these cards work, the recipient seems unable to get to
grips with how they should be displayed.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Easel cards seem to be the most common culprit.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I've seen them on their sides, flat and bent
into all kinds of shapes.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The problem was really hightlighted when my friend (who had
sent one of my cards to her son) mentioned that he had remarked 'Sheila's cards
are really getting clever now but you need a degree in design to know how to
put them up!' </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
O.K. - point taken!</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I'm now giving very careful consideration to making my cards
'out of the envelope - pop - all set up and on the shelf' No thought required.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
After all if you've gone to the trouble of making it and
sending it, you want it to be the one in the middle of the display and not on
the side because no one knows what to do with it!</div>
</div>

<br />
Looking back, I don't think we could have asked for a better year than last year and 13 seemed to have been our lucky number! It also helped that our traditionally unpredictable and usually wet summer was, for us, wall to wall sunshine. What more could you ask for ;0)<br />
<br />
So here I am already to embark on 2014, and it's two weeks in already!<br />
<br />
My New Years resolution was to have a spring clean and a purge of <u>all</u> those little bits of this, that and the other that I've been saving - just in case...... <br />
Well, for once I've actually done it! I've been ruthless and the bags for the hospice shop and the local dump are standing by the door to prove it.<br />
<br />
So now I've done my bit and my halo is all shiny, I can get back to being my usual happy hoarding self.<br />
<br />
<span style="color: magenta;"><span style="font-size: large;">Happy New Year!!</span></span><br />

<br />
<br />
If you would like to make some for gifts to cheer up a fellow chilly mortal, the ingredients and a freebie printable label are below.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglgzkK4Z-NdcQ3WDewh5XdW4l4uU-HX0-bkBclwVY39Zbv2ibA6XXLufYsF9doaHvpJ0RxCGanCIMqhpA7SWcoSfyRT3gSu2FAizRfHWPc9YDN13nw5zaIc_b-DKEcvNzcRWh_Lt_eo0A/s1600/Photo+13-12-2013+14+46+59.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglgzkK4Z-NdcQ3WDewh5XdW4l4uU-HX0-bkBclwVY39Zbv2ibA6XXLufYsF9doaHvpJ0RxCGanCIMqhpA7SWcoSfyRT3gSu2FAizRfHWPc9YDN13nw5zaIc_b-DKEcvNzcRWh_Lt_eo0A/s1600/Photo+13-12-2013+14+46+59.jpg" height="298" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwfxtPvysWuWcbqOsirNIEACi_Co_QsInmoB5and43SJAHhsiMYQXYIRDh62vn_bd4SZQApVAZq0pJOe9EjPiei6NFFLkmqIyknjhyphenhyphen454WBapsDKaqOvZeOZcESsNc-ugHDOmwdCIdR6c/s1600/Photo+13-12-2013+14+47+37.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwfxtPvysWuWcbqOsirNIEACi_Co_QsInmoB5and43SJAHhsiMYQXYIRDh62vn_bd4SZQApVAZq0pJOe9EjPiei6NFFLkmqIyknjhyphenhyphen454WBapsDKaqOvZeOZcESsNc-ugHDOmwdCIdR6c/s1600/Photo+13-12-2013+14+47+37.jpg" height="298" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.mediafire.com/?lb5m06i784ivlyb" target="_blank">click here to download the front of the label</a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.mediafire.com/?lspvo214qarzjmd" target="_blank">click here to download the back of the label</a></div>
<br />
Download both files and print on either side of card stock, cut out labels and punch a hole for ribbon to go through<br />
<br />
Then get some cello cone bags (I got mine on e-bay from Dummigan123 and they cost £3-75 for 50. Not bad eh!) or a largish plastic bag. (you can pop everything into the corner of the bag to make a cone shape)<br />
Next I cut about a third off one of the bags and fill the little cone with some instant chocolate/cocoa power. I measure out enough to make a cup of chocolate and then seal it. Then I pop it into another cone and add some marshmallows - lots of little ones are nice to float on the top - and some Milky Way Magic Stars.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=1054696018464254720" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXJbt2jcoS7B55TT5c0KJVDwANw-klJSPr7dcqDA85CNEKJjZ-b6chj57a25jSTy9Nb5rBrIwGznocRoxNDtPFteTaKnveGyg2bYBYMjEEe1YtskerttNNO00WXs5vzGWiUwYT1oSy4D8/s1600/Photo+13-12-2013+16+35+23.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXJbt2jcoS7B55TT5c0KJVDwANw-klJSPr7dcqDA85CNEKJjZ-b6chj57a25jSTy9Nb5rBrIwGznocRoxNDtPFteTaKnveGyg2bYBYMjEEe1YtskerttNNO00WXs5vzGWiUwYT1oSy4D8/s1600/Photo+13-12-2013+16+35+23.jpg" height="298" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
These are popped on top of the chocolate in the bag and a candy cane is stuck on top to stir with.<br />
Then I tie it all up with ribbon and add the label - free download above - and voila! Snowman soup!<br />
<br />
Have a little go. They are so easy to make and are always welcome on a chilly winters eve <span style="font-size: large;"> ;)</span><b>
